PE- Ms. Trochan
Greetings from the Physical Education Department! I would like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to all of our volunteers and donators for your help with field day. We had a great day that could not have been possible without you. The weather was a little chilly, but we all had a great time and experienced a lot of fun physical activities. Thank you again!
Welcome!
Vision: Encore Students are multitalented, flexible learners, who are creative risk takers.

The weather is getting a little cooler and we will be both inside and outside. Please remind students to dress appropriately for class. Students should wear tennis shoes (sneakers) to class to prevent slipping on the multipurpose room floor and bring jackets for the days we are outside. We will usually be outside if it is not raining or below 40 degrees. Thank you so much for your help with this.
The Tyler Tomcat’s Mileage Club will continue at recess as long as weather permits. Students run/walk around the blacktop each day during recess. These laps are recorded on a card. Once the students complete 29 laps, or 3 miles, they earn a “Twinkle Toe” foot charm. The students are working very hard to earn their foot charms. In the Café is a bulletin board with the names of all the students who have received a charm thus far. Make sure you stop by and take a look at all of our runners. Keep up the great work Tomcats!!
Our second annual Tyler Turkey Trot will be held on Wednesday, November 25. Our Turkey Trot is a run around the Tyler grounds. Grades 3-5 will run a mile and Grades K-2 will run a half mile. Medals will be given to the fastest girl and fastest boy at each grade level. Parents, families & Teachers are welcome too! Fastest adults will also receive a medal. Come out to Tyler to run or support our students by cheering them on and encouraging their efforts.
K, 1st and 2nd Grades:
We are continuing to work on being responsible, respons-able students while in PE. The students are beginning to work well together and are moving forward with working together as a team. We have begun working on skilled movements such as throwing and catching. PE classes will be outside as long as the weather allows. Please remind students to dress appropriately.
3rd, 4th and 5th Grades:
In the upper grades we are also continuing to work on being responsible, respons-able students while in PE. The students have started learning and practicing the skills that go along with football. We have begun with throwing, catching, tucking and running, and the hand-off. We will be moving toward “playing” a football type game as the weeks/months progress. The students are also working on aerobic capacity through these skills by running. This will help increase our wellness scores as well as prepare us for the Turkey Trot later in the monthJ
